Kealia Ranch is pleased to offer 1 day guided hunts, several square miles of diverse and unique terrain with a plentiful supply of bird life and game.  Rare and beautiful scenery makes the trip up on Mauna Loa an unforgettable experience as the temperature, vegetation and game change with elevation.  Kealia Ranch headquarters at 1,000 ft offers the beautiful sights of Mango, Kukui nut, Ulu (breadfruit), Coffee, Guava and Papaya. As you ascend into the rugged mountain forest the temperatures cools and the Hapu'u fern and native Ohia appear.  The regal monarchs of the Hawaiian woods, Acacia Koa, are found at 3,500 ft. and continue intermixed with Sandalwood and Ohia until you reach Sheep country at 6,500 ft.

Hunters must be eligible to purchase a Hawaii Hunting License and appropriate Game Tags.  *Details below

All that is necessary for you to bring is your own personal gear with at least: 

• Lightweight Rain-proof Jacket
• Sturdy Boots
• Lightweight Hunting Clothes

A Box lunch and drinks are provided.  You will be transported up the mountain in a 4x4 vehicle and our guide will locate and help you stalk your preferred game. 

We only offer guided hunts. There is a maximum of 1 hunter per day with option to have 1 ride along for an additional fee.  

Hunts are conducted on weekends only.    

Hunting can be by Firearm or Bow and Arrow. We have firearms for rental with ammunition provided. 

All guided hunt participants must have a valid Hawaii Hunting License and appropriate Game Tags. To purchase a Hawaii Hunting License you must show proof of having completed a Hunter's Safety Course from your home state. You may purchase your Hunting License and Tags via the State's website linked below, or the day of your hunt from the Ranch with prior arrangement with our guide.
